Arceus ex Deck

The creator of the Pokémon world couldn't just arrive in Pokémon TCG Pocket without being the centerpiece of its own archetype. Arceus ex, the first Basic Pokémon ex in the game, stands strong with 140 HP, the Fabled Luster ability—which makes it immune to all Special Conditions—and Ultimate Force, a base 70-damage attack that gains +20 damage for each Benched Pokémon. It can reach up to 130 damage for a generic cost of Energy –which beats the previous record settled by Yanmega ex without needing to evolve.
In a context where, over multiple formats, a strong Basic Pokémon ex is what a color needs to ascend to the top echelons of the competition, a Pokémon virtually playable in every color is certainly an important release.

Arceus ex Crobat

The standard variant of Arceus ex paired with Crobat, the only Pokémon with the Cunning Link ability, allowing it to deal 30 damage to the opponent’s Active Pokémon once per turn—provided Arceus ex is on the field. This surpasses previous ability-based damage benchmarks set by Greninja’s Water Shuriken and Darkrai ex’s Nightmare Aura.
- With no way to attack before turn six (or turn seven if you went first) and a retreat cost of , Arceus ex is a terrible starter, practically forcing you to run Leaf.
- Most Pokémon linked to Arceus ex are borderline unplayable and become massively underwhelming if Arceus ex isn’t on the field.
