All Pokémon with Energy acceleration abilities in Pokémon TCG Pocket have been meta-defining so far—think Gardevoir, Magneton, and Serperior. Leafeon ex raises the bar as the first Pokémon ex with an Energy-accelerating ability, Forest Breath. Not only does it accelerate Energy, but it can also attach that Energy to any Pokémon on your side of the field. While in the Active Spot, it can fuel itself to attack by turn 4 and, at any point in the game, power up Benched Pokémon. Since its Solar Beam attack requires only one Energy in its 3 total Energy cost, Leafeon ex can attack on curve without requiring you to play in the Energy Zone, making it a viable attacker in virtually any deck—essentially functioning like Magnezone but with only one stage of Evolution.

- Even though Leafeon ex is an all-star early game threat, it falls short in the late game where its stats are nothing to write home about, especially its rather weak Solar Beam attack.

Functioning similarly to Exeggutor ex with Celebi ex, this deck runs a low Pokémon count, typically including just one Celebi ex to maximize the chances of opening with Eevee in the Active Spot and evolving into Leafeon ex on curve. Pokémon Communication helps in reaching that level of consistency to increase the odds of getting Leafeon ex into play as quickly as possible.
