Mega Manectric ex is a typical Pokémon: fast to set up, no retreat cost, relatively low HP for a Stage 1, and a fairly average attack in Lightning Accelerator with its base 80 damage. However, unlike most of its peers, its attack scales dramatically with each point you’ve taken. It gains an extra 30 damage per point, meaning it can reach up to 140 damage once you have a solid footing in the game. Benefiting from the strong support, Mega Manectric ex stands as one of the fastest decks in the metagame, and one of the most dangerous if it isn’t quickly kept in check.

As Mega Manectric ex relies on quick knockouts to pave its way to victory, Jolteon from Eevee Groove is a natural partner for it. Its Beginning Bolt deals 60 damage for just the turn it evolves, which can be as soon as turn 2 with Eevee's Boosted Evolution. Even though its power halves the next turn, it can be enough to knock out a Pokémon while Mega Manectric ex can be safely loaded up on the Bench. Both Jolteon and Mega Manectric ex's damages get boosted with Training Area.

- Mega Manectric ex isn’t a very strong Pokémon on its own: 180 HP for a Stage 1 three-point Pokémon is quite low, and the base damage of Lightning Accelerator is only on par with Mega Absol ex’s Darkness Claw, but without the upside. It only becomes threatening if the support comes together quickly.
- Until an opponent’s Pokémon is knocked out, Lightning Accelerator’s damage is fairly low and easy to heal, which further delays the point where it becomes strong. By then, the opponent may already be able to deal heavier damage to your Pokémon.
