Raikou ex joins the already crowded pool of Basic Pokémon ex, yet it still has every reason to be another playable option. Its Legendary Pulse ability is one of the best in the game, drawing an extra card at the end of each turn –including the very first, as long as Raikou ex is in the Active Spot. Finding your best card earlier is reason enough to consider the Legendary Dog, but its Voltaic Bullet attack is also a strong threat: for , it deals 60 damage to the Active Pokémon and 10 to a Benched Pokémon, setting up Cyrus plays to catch threats that felt secure developing on your opponent's Bench.
Every turn Raikou ex stays alive means one more draw and one more damaged Bench, helping it carve a place in the metagame at lightning speed.
