Blastoise drop event

The Blastoise drop event is a Solo Battle event where you face multiple stages of Blastoise-themed decks to collect event-exclusive cards and rewards:

  • First-clear rewards when you win each stage for the first time
  • Access to the next level of difficulty: Beginner > Intermediate > Advanced > Expert.
  • A random chance for drop rewards.
  • Additional battle tasks

Find out about the exclusive cards, the rewards, the CPU decks and how to beat them in this article!

What are the exclusive cards?

This event features Promo Pack A Series Vol. 3 which contains only exclusive Promo cards. The best way to get it is by completing the Expert challenge over and over again: it's a guaranteed reward. In earlier stages, it can drop as a reward too, but it's a percentage chance.

The highlight from this pack is the art rare Blastoise. There's a 12.66% chance to open Blastoise in a Promo Pack A Series Vol. 3. It is an identical counterpart of the Blastoise from Genetic Apex, save for the brand new artwork. It contains 4 other cards:

  • Volcarona, which is the same as Volcarona from Mythical Island except for the new artwork. There's a 15.82% chance to open it.
  • Cinccino, which is also an alternative art version for the Genetic Apex Cinccino. There's a 23.84% chance to open it.
  • Snivy and Eevee. They're both new cards and exclusive to this booster pack! There's a 23.84% chance to open any of these.

How to complete the first time rewards?

Beginner - Intermediate

At all levels, the Blastoise decks played by the CPU are weak to . You're even incentivized to play such a deck in Beginner and Intermediate modes to complete challenges. For those early stages, we recommend to use the Wigglytuff ex Rental Deck that you can obtain easily by completing the 13th Guide in Battle > Guide

Try to knock out 2 of your opponent's Pokémon with either Raichu or Jolteon to confirm the challenge. Don't forget to play 3 Basic Pokémon as well, and evolve at least one of these.

Advanced - Expert

As the CPU decks get better, the battle task gets harder: you have to beat them once using a deck containing a card that isn't , or . Fortunately, even if you didn't open the Pikachu pack full of good Pokémon, you can use the Lt. Surge Rental Deck, obtainable when you collect at least 1 copy of the Lt. Surge card (Pikachu pack). You might already have one from the previously active Lightning-Type Mass Outbreak Wonder Pick event!

The plan is similar to the Single Point Lightning deck: you attack with efficient Pokémon, with the option to prepare for a powerful Raichu play thanks to the Lt. Surge Supporter that redirects all your L Energy in play to an active Raichu, Electrode or Electabuzz. You can charge them with the Magneton's Volt Charge ability.

As for all Rental Decks, you can only use it up to ten times, so make sure to make the best plays possible to not burn through it. Of course, if you opened a lot of Pikachu packs from Genetic Apex, you can build a deck without consuming any use of a Rental deck. Take inspiration of the decks above to build yours.

Once you completed the specific Battle tasks, use your regular deck in Auto battle to save time and rental decks use.

How to beat the Blastoise event decks?

Any Pikachu ex deck will do fantastic against the Blastoise decks thanks to the typing advantage.

How do solo events work?

You need Event Stamina to participate in event battles. Event Stamina are only consumed after you win a battle.

You start with 5 Event Stamina (the maximum possible). They recover over time at the same rate as Wonder Stamina (12 hours each) or by using Event Hourglasses or Poké Gold.

This event consists of facing Blastoise-themed CPU decks at multiple stages. For each stage, there will be first-clear rewards when you win for the first time, access to the next level of difficulty as well as a random chance for drop rewards. The progressive difficulty structure mimics the Solo mode: Beginner > Intermediate > Advanced > Expert.

You can also complete challenges to get more rewards by fulfilling specific conditions described below.
