Everything you might have missed today! Interesting finds from the A4b data + more

The Deluxe Pack: ex (A4b) expansion is something completely new for Pokémon TCG Pocket: a reprint-only pack (at least when it comes to the attacks and the meta). While some cards feature new artwork, their stats and attributes remain identical to their previously released counterparts.

Crucially, as confirmed in last week’s press release, these cards are added to the A4b card dex - they do not complete earlier sets, even if the artwork is the same.

But today’s post isn’t about what we already knew last week. Instead, read on for a curated overview of everything fresh and noteworthy!

Pokémon TCG Pocket 1st Anniversary Countdown will give you a free rainbow Eevee card

In late October, the game will ramp up its B1 hype-building and celebrate its first anniversary with some excellent free rewards.

You’ll have two weeks to log in on five separate days (not necessarily consecutive) to earn the celebratory Eevee ex card. If you start the login bonus challenges on day 1, you’ll receive the anniversary Eevee exactly on Pocket’s 1-year anniversary: October 30!

Wonder Picks from A4b consist of four cards plus two Hourglasses

There was great uncertainty regarding whether the cards from the Deluxe pack could be wonder picked or not. Thankfully, we found out that the cards do show up in Wonder Picks, and the missing 5th card will be replaced by 2 Pack Hourglasses. The Wonder Stamina cost for A4b packs are always either 3 Stamina or 4 Stamina (depending on whether the pack includes a or not.

Only 3 cards revealed today include new attacks

Since this was a reprint set, it’s no surprise that the cards didn’t receive any new attacks or stats. This means that the meta should stay the way it is. However, the newly unveiled PROMO cards give a small but notable addition, with unique attacks for Pikachu and the brand-new Raichu ex! Can these cards take down Suicune ex? Additionally, Machamp ex features a brand-new attack that can potentially deal 200 damage for .

For the first time in the game's history, we'll have a Mass Outbreak event with zero ex cards. Instead, the Rare Picks for this event will feature the rarer parallel foil cards with rarity. Each pick will contain two cards, each costing two Wonder Stamina; a pretty good deal overall.

However, because there are no ex cards, the developers have also chosen not to include any time-limited flairs: another first for the game.

Cards from A4b complete older missions, including unlocking the secret immersive Mew.

Collecting cards from the new expansion will also complete older themed collections. Likewise, cards you already own will help complete the themed collections for A4b. This means that you can potentially unlock the secret immersive Mew with this pack.

There were some uncertainty regarding pack points and costs for this set, but we now have all the facts: Packs still cost 12 hourglasses. Each pack still gives you 5 Pack Points, despite only having 4 cards. There are God Packs (Rare Packs) in this set as well, but no +1 baby packs. Parallel Foils are not treated as an own rarity or a special card, but gives the same Shinedust values and costs the same amount of Pack Points as their same-rarity counterparts.

Chansey Pick & Sneak Peek is in sync

This month’s Sneak Peek campaign overlaps with the Chansey Pick event! This is great news to be able to more easily snipe the limited promo card you need.

iOS update

Following an app update on Oct 27, 2025, the game will stop working on devices running iOS 14 or lower. You need to update to iOS 15 or above to be able to keep using the app on your device.

B1 release date

Plenty of new Gift Code events

Several new gift code campaigns have quietly been added to our Gift Code and IRL Events articles. While not directly tied to A4b, they are all launching within the next month.

These events appear to be part of a broader push to build hype for Pocket’s 1-year anniversary, and we suspect there’s more on the way; possibly global gift codes or even physical events in in places that have none announced for now, like Korea and the USA.

An art gallery–inspired pop-up experience is coming to Rome, Italy, on 30 Sept. 2025 and 1 Oct. 2025.

During this event, Trainers can look forward to experiencing the artwork of cards available in Pokémon TCG Pocket in a gallery-inspired setting themed around three different Pokémon habitats — beach, mountain desert and grasslands. This event comes as Pokémon TCG Pocket approaches its first anniversary and features on-site activities including a scavenger hunt, a photo opportunity celebrating booster pack artworks, and comments from popular Pokémon TCG card artists on the artwork they created for in-app cards. During this event, Trainers can look forward to experiencing the artwork of cards available in Pokémon TCG Pocket in a gallery-inspired setting themed around three different Pokémon habitats — beach, mountain desert and grasslands. Leading up to the one year anniversary of Pocket, an interactive experience and Pokémon TCG museum will be available at multiple locations around Europe. There will be a stamp hunt for TCG rewards, and also, a Pokémon TCG Pocket 1st Anniversary Museum stamp hunt for a 24 hourglasses gift code. There will also be an exhibition of 10 digital murals showcasing dynamic card art and immersive animations, exciting battles, and more from the game's diverse expansions. Demonstration areas will allow you to open booster packs and do Wonder Picks in the Pokémon Pocket TCG.
